Protection through forgiveness?

What is true forgiveness and why is it so important?

The reason why it seems difficult and almost impossible to forgive someone who caused us pain, is because

we may be holding on to the energy of resentment. And we often think that resentment keeps us safe from the person who hurt us.

Holding on to resentment only keeps that person and the memory of pain in our reality, making us feel blocked and stuck.

We also often resist forgiving someone who caused us pain because we think that forgiveness gives that person permission to hurt us again.

However, true forgiveness is your key to freedom. When you have the ability to forgive, you are always protected.

Forgiving someone simply means that you are saying ‘’you have no power over me anymore’’. It does not mean forgetting or pretending it didn’t happen. It means you are retaining the lesson learned without holding onto the pain. It is letting go of the need for revenge and releasing negative thoughts of bitterness and resentment.

Forgiveness doesn't mean you have to reconcile with the person or have a relationship with them. You can forgive someone and still choose to maintain a distance from them.

And by practicing forgiveness, you are freeing yourself from the past and any unhealthy attachment to drama, and taking back your true power, so you can use this power with love, and start creating the reality you desire.

This week, we invite you to work on yourselves on any resentment you are holding on to, and find out the lessons learned, and practice forgiveness with this forgiveness meditation. Enjoy the benefits!
