How does your self chatter affect you?

Do you have a busy mind, always thinking? Is your mind constantly running a steady commentary to yourself, and about yourself? About other people and life in general? Are you your own worst critic? If so, you are not alone.

Negative thoughts can undermine your sense of self worth, self esteem and happiness. Would you hang out with someone who was always criticising you, putting down and being unkind to you?

So I really liked this quote from James Clear. "The most important conversation is the conversation you have with yourself each day."

So what can you do if you catch yourself thinking in a negative way about yourself? (Or anyone or anything). You can interrupt your negative thoughts and think of someone you love. You can think of something you love doing or that you are looking forward to, for example. You can think of your good points, how you've helped others, of contributions you have made. You can treat yourself like you are your own best friend, not your worst enemy.

Meditation has been used over the centuries to help quieten the mind. It helps to teach you how to have more awareness of your thoughts, and to have control over what you are thinking. I find mindfulness meditation very helpful for this.

Theta Healing can also help you to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. It's changed my life.
