Compassion - are you self compassionate?
Compassion is said to be an inportant attribute of love. Compassion is not about feeling sorry for someone, it's not about pity. It's not even sympathy or empathy. Empathy is more about our ability to feel the emotions of another person. Compassion is when we feel or understand the emotions of others and we desire to help them.
The most important person to have compassion for is yourself. This can be difficult if there are people in your life who are unkind to you, who criticise you. Spend more time with people who are kind and supportive, who appreciate and love you.
There are many benefits to self compassion, including less anxiety, worry and fear. Less stress. Stress is associated with poorer health, so self compassion is good for your health!
Self compassion allows for more feelings of contentment, ease and peace of mind. More acceptance of ourselves and life. Better health outcomes.
When we have self compassion, we are better able to have compassion for others, improving our relationships and our lives.
Theta Healing is a great way to develop self compassion. Mindfulness meditation is also very helpful.
